No news yet on the rumoured Paul Gilbert Fireman (reverse Iceman) or new Steve Vai Jem models - let's wait and see what else is posted on Thomann before NAMM in January.

Regarding the reissued Timmons model, Andy recently posted the following on his website:

Hi Folks,

I'm very proud to announce that Ibanez and I have agreed to re-issue the original AT100 on a global scale. As opposed to the original AT100 which was a limited production (we think @ 300 were made), the AT100CL will be available worldwide and will be made to the exact specs as the original including the hand shaped neck!!

As you may recall, I announced a while back that I had parted ways with Ibanez and that I just wanted to play whatever I felt like playing. I never had any intention of signing with another guitar company as many had speculated. I did get approached by many companies once word got out (which I was very flattered by) but it was more important to me to remain independent and avoid a reputation as an "endorsement hopper".

What I discovered in this time period is that I do love to play Strats occasionally as well as SG Specials, Teles and Les Pauls but nothing feels like "home" like my original AT100. Tone, feel and expression. It's truly MY guitar.

As I was coming to this realization, Hoshino invited me to play for their 100th Anniversary concert in Japan w/Steve Vai and Paul Gilbert. I was very honored to be asked to do so and I thought it was cool for them to ask considering I wasn't currently an endorsee. During my visit they approached me with the idea of re-issuing the AT100. It was just perfect timing...it felt "right"!

I know there has been a lot of interest in this guitar in the past, so I'm so happy to say that it will finally be available in 2009!

The guitar will be unveiled at the January NAMM show (and available for pre-order) in Anaheim and should be in stores by Spring.

The Andy Timmons Band will appear opening for Paul Gilbert and Racer X as part of the NAMM festivities. Good stuff indeed.

I'm off to play...I'm inspired!!!

Destroyer, im ernst? Das wäre geil, die alten gehen für jenseits von 2000 weg. Die geilste Kopfplatte aller Zeiten, da könnte mein Geldbeutel leiden.

ja könnte nett werden, aber welche Kopfplatte meinst du? die alte Hamer-Style? Keine Chance, das die wieder kommt...cool wäre ne reversed...aber naja...wenn die sich so wie die jetzigen Iceman spielen, sind sie eh schrott. Ansonsten bis jetz nicht viel aufregendes...

Yup, die alte "Banane". Schön wäre es jedenfalls. Die modernere Version sieht nach gar nix aus, die meine ich nicht.

die Frage ist ja, welche Korpusform überhaupt kommt. Gab ja auch mehrere...hab automatisch an die zuletzt gebaute modifizierte Explorer gedacht...denke auch, dass die so kommen wird, wie zuletzt gebaut...auch mit der normalen Ibanez-Kopfplatte...ich fürchte, die wird ziemlich langweilig aussehen, so wie die jetzigen Icemans...von den Specs passt das ja. Ne richtige Explorer dürfen sie ja eh nicht...

es wird definitiv keine Gibson Explorer Copy kommen (weiß nicht, wie man da auf HAMER kommt, auch die STANDARD war ja nur ne Gibson Kopie, wobei die kopfplatte "steiler" war),sondern ne echte destroyer,aber wahrscheinlich sehr puristisch, damit billig... schade, sone richtige cherry sunburst oder seetru maple mit bodybinding und binding am hals und kopf, mit mother of pearl blocks....

Als ob alle nur auf einer RG370 rumgammeln wollen.
Da nehmen sie die RG1570 mal eben aus dem Programm und dann kommt nichts...

Generell muss ich sagen, dass ich die Neuen sehr vielversprechend finde. Endlich coole Finishes, Flamed Maple, bessere Farben usw. und nette Ergänzungen.

nett nett... eine günstige AR hab ich schon lange erwartet. die günstigen RGAs sehen gut aus, die farbe der destroyer ist leider gar nicht meins...

Also mit farben haben dies wohl wirklich nicht. Vor allem in der X-Serie nichts interessantes:
Die Farbe der neuen Destroyer ist grauenhaft, die kleine Xiphos gefällt mir vom Shaping nicht, die große ist ganz nett, aber 27 Bünde sind meiner Meinung nach überflüssig.

Schade.

Wobei das ja alles noch die 4-Farben Bilder direkt von Ibanez sind, vielleicht sehen die in Wirklichkeit doch besser aus...

Also diese Ahorngriffbretter mit den schwarzen "Ghost Sharktooth"-Inlays finde ich wirklich super. So einen würde ich gerne mal separat in die Finger bekommen...

Es ist erstaunlich viel neues dabei, womit ich nicht gerechnet hätte...

Mit der 27-bündigen Xiphos wollen sie Caparison wohl ein bisschen unter Druck setzen.
Und ENDLICH wieder eine neue PGM! Die 301 konnte ich schon nicht mehr sehen, yeah!

Aber wie Atrox schon erkannt hat: Scheinbar keine 7string dabei, schade... naja, abwarten. Das Beste kommt vielleicht zum Schluss

ich hoffe mal, die Preise fallen noch n bischen... :S war dieses jahr aber nicht der fall, glaub ich.
Aber wenn ich sehe, dass ne S5470F 400€ mehr kostet als ne S5470 nur wegen nem FM Top und in den USA kostet sie grad mal 200$ mehr (was ich auch höchstens bereit wäre, für ne geilere Optik zu bezahlen:screwy ... findsch nich lustig...hatte ja, nachdem ich die auf ibanez usa und japan gesehen habe, gehofft, dass die in D kommt, aber mir auch sofort gedacht, mehr als 1400€ wäre mir die nich wert!

jetzt wart doch mal ab... die neuen modelle wurden noch nicht mal offiziell vorgestellt. da wird sich bei den preisen sicher noch was tun, bis die alle lieferbar sind.

das teil ist ja mal der Hammer
