DYNACORD FE 15.3

Mein Name ist Alex. Das ist mein erster Beitrag hier, ich hoffe, er ist an der richtigen Stelle.

Ich bin auf der Suche nach einem Originalpaar Dynacord FE 15.3 für den Proberaum meiner Band. Nachdem ich mich lange mit den verschiedenen Optionen beschäftigt habe, bin ich zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass diese für unseren Zweck ideal sind. Es scheint sehr schwierig zu sein, ein einwandfreies Paar mit Original-Treibern zu finden, daher habe ich mich entschlossen, diesen Beitrag zu verfassen, in der Hoffnung, dass uns jemand weiterhelfen kann.

Was ich suche:

Originalkomponenten, EV EVM-15L-Tieftöner

Keine modifizierten oder nachgerüsteten Treiber

Guter bis sehr guter Zustand

Voll funktionsfähig

Ich wohne nicht in Deutschland, habe aber die Abholung durch eine kleine Firma vor Ort organisiert. Der Käufer kann vor Ort bar bezahlen. Kein Versand erforderlich.

A 15/3-speaker produces some weird side-beams between the 15-inch woofer and the speaker for the middle frequencies as well as between the middle-frequency speaker and the tweeter. For a practice room, I would therefore recommend a 12/2 speaker with a horn - the 12-inch woofer can produce higher frequencies than the 15-inch woofer, and the horn can usually cover lower frequencies than a small tweeter. With a 12/2-box, you only have one crossover frequency and reduce the unwanted side-effects.

Besides, it is always a risk to buy a very old and second-hand loudspeaker in a different country. If you buy new loudspeakers from a reliable dealer, there is nearly no risk. A friend of mine ordered a loudspeaker from Thomann* to a different country, the box arrived damaged, he got his money back. End of story and no stress. What if the same happened with this old Dynacord loudspeaker?

Thank you, this is very helpful and it explains a lot. I understand the point about the side-beams and the single crossover frequency in a 12/2 design.

One thing I noticed about the FE 15.3 is that it can be bi-amped. I think the reason for that is exactly what you described, so the crossover can happen at line level instead of speaker level with large coils. In bi-amp mode, would the lobing issue still be a problem, or does it only affect the passive crossover?

Ich verstehe den Punkt bezüglich der seitlichen Treiber und der einzelnen Trennfrequenz bei einem 12/2-Design.Mir ist bei der FE 15.3 aufgefallen, dass sie im Bi-Amping-Betrieb genutzt werden kann. Ich vermute, der Grund dafür ist genau das, was Sie beschrieben haben: Die Frequenztrennung kann auf Line-Pegel erfolgen, anstatt auf Lautsprecherpegel mit großen Spulen. Wäre das Problem mit der Keulenbildung (Lobing) im Bi-Amping-Betrieb weiterhin relevant, oder betrifft es nur die passive Frequenzweiche?

It is not a question of active and passive, but of two different loudspeakers that are close to each other and play the same frequencies - this will create these side-lobes. I believe (not entirely sure, though) that a horn with a well-defined directivity will help to reduce this when compared to a dome speaker for middle and/or high frequencies.

I think I understand now. It is the distance between the drivers that causes this effect. I never thought about this, very interesting. It makes me wonder about the FE 15.3 cabinet shape, which is wider and taller and less deep than many other speakers. Also i observe the 10 inch driver is mounted as far away as possible from the 15 inch driver. I never heard the sound of a pair like this.
I will study the 12 inch plus horn options, thank you!

Ich glaube, jetzt habe ich es verstanden. Es ist der Abstand zwischen den Treibern, der diesen Effekt verursacht. Darüber habe ich noch nie nachgedacht – sehr interessant. Das lässt mich über die Gehäuseform der FE 15.3 nachdenken, die breiter, höher und weniger tief ist als bei vielen anderen Lautsprechern. Mir ist auch aufgefallen, dass der 10-Zoll-Treiber so weit wie möglich vom 15-Zoll-Treiber entfernt montiert ist. Ich habe noch nie ein solches Lautsprecherpaar gehört.Ich werde mir die Optionen mit 12-Zoll-Treiber und Horn genauer ansehen – vielen Dank!
