We have asked Behringer directly about this - specifically whether or not their board could alternate between sending values 0 and 127(or similar) on a specific controller for easy "Bypass block function" in conjunction with G-Force and G-Major - please see their answer below.
I have just spoken with our engineers and we will look for a good solution to fit your needs. The principle of the FCB is to create a specific status with each different switch.
For the moment there are only two possibilities to achieve what you want:
- Use the expression pedals as switches (this is what many customers are doing for the moment.....we know that from support feedback and newsgroups)
- Use two different switches for a seperate operation. That´s easy when using banks 1-9 to recall presets while bank 0 only contains all On/Off controllers.
The results could be for example on bank 0:
- Preset 1 CC1=On, Preset 6 CC1=Off,
- Preset 2 CC2=On, Preset 7 CC2=Off etc.
Together with both pedals it´s now possible to switch or modify 7 Effectpatches/Functions. Nevertheless we will try to find a solution that we can introduce into a following update....."
Our conclusion :
The normal patch change works with the FCB-1010, although It has an offset of + or -1, so maybe you'll need to compensate with the G-Major's MIDI mapping features.
The MIDI CC's also work. However, we can´t recommend a board that can't send effect block on/off CCs, which is the case with the FCB-1010 at the moment. The reason for this is, that the block on/off switching is one of the G-Major's/G-Force´s key features.
The bottom line is: Yes it does work, as long as you don't expect full compatibility.
Before we can recommend using this board with our guitar processors, obviously the above mentioned issues need to be addressed by Behringer, in a software update for the FCB-1010.
