Schau mer mal, dann seh'n ma scho.

Vater Mike Mangini Signature Drumstick

Vater introduces the New Mike Mangini Wicked Piston Drumstick model.

MikeMangini%20FinalWickedPistonAd.jpeg

Mike worked very closely with Vater over the past several months and also spent time at the Vater factory to develop a very unique design of which Mike says: "This stick does everything you could possibly want it to do. It''s not your ordinary stick. It is balanced, it is powerful. This is the Wicked Piston!"

Mike Mangini’s new unique American Hickory design starts out at .580” (1.47cm) in the grip and increases slightly towards the middle of the stick until it reaches .620” (1.57cm) in diameter and then tapers back down to an acorn tip. Mike’s reason for this design is so that the stick has a slightly added front weight for a solid, consistent “throw” and transient sound. With the extra length, you can adjust how much front weight you’re implementing by slightly moving your fulcrum point up or down on the stick. You’ll also get a fat sounding rim-shot crack from the added front weighted taper.
The Mike Mangini Wicked Piston Drumstick Model by Vater is available for purchase through any music/drum shop.

List Price: $18.99
Length: 16 3/4" (42.55cm)

Schön, dass man sich wieder an diese Aufgabe traut, nach dem Abgang von Zulieferer Sakae!

Herzensangelegenheit: [] Paiste hat gerade seine Cymbal-Neuheiten für 2016 veröffentlicht!

2002 Black Big Beat - Big Sound From Legendary DNA

Nottwil/Switzerland – The renowned cymbal maker Paiste announces the launch of the 2002 Black Big Beat, coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the legendary 2002 series.

Big Beat cymbals are available in 18", 19",20",21", 22" and 24" singles, and 15" and 16" pairs. The set represents a modernized, yet timeless interpretation of the celebrated 2002 sound.

Visually, the cymbals feature a distinctly new hammering pattern for the 2002 family, a slightly darkened, semi-matted finish and simplified black logos to distinguish the Big Beat set.

In terms of sound, the cymbals are rooted in the world of 2002 Alloy, with its celebrated brilliance, clarity, precision and strength. Big Beat models add particular warmth, depth and complexity to the mix. They are perfect for broad, voluminous sound without being overly aggressive.

The individual cymbals are designed to be multifunctional and work well across the range as both crashes and rides. Despite their sizes, the cymbals feature excellent manageability and well controllable decay. Warm luscious crashes, an airy, defined ping over a wide multi-layered wash, and broad, musical bells are the hallmarks of the Big Beat singles. The Hi-Hat pairs feature a broad stick over a fat, wet open sound and a rich pronounced chick.

With the 2002 Black Big Beat models, Paiste takes the 2002 sound into a new realm, while preserving the legendary 2002 heritage. Live or studio, these cymbals are decidedly multi-musical, well suited for a wide range of applications.

2002s are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century.

Paiste Artist Michael Miley of the band Rival Sons performs with the 2002 Black Big Beat series for the first time live on stage! We’ve been at the sound check & concert with a camera to record it for you!

Gentle Giants Roam Paiste World - Grosse Grössen

Nottwil/Switzerland – The renowned cymbal maker Paiste presents the launch of select extraordinary cymbal specimens, in an effort to test the limits, to challenge the accepted wisdom, and thus to expand the horizon of cymbal design.

The Formula 602 Modern Essentials gains a 22" Crash and a 24" Ride. Modern Essentials cymbals were developed in collaboration with Vinnie Colaiuta, based on the venerable Formula 602. The new models were designed in response to Vinnie’s craving for maximum depth, volume and power in highly refined and complex cymbals that feature utmost precision, clarity and musicality.

The 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hat is now available as a 17". The wavy bottom design is a once patented Paiste innovation from the 1970s to produce Hi-Hat cymbals that are well defined and controllable with a sharp, saturated and full chick. The new, huge 17" version adds extraordinary boost, low end and crisp projection without sacrificing an iota of musicality.

The Giant Beat in 26" gives the word giant new meaning. This eminently musical cymbal embodies a clear and powerful stick sound, a pearly wooden ping, a deep whooshing wash, a tremendous swelling crash and a marvelously embedded strong and articulate bell. Giant Beat cymbals were originally developed in 1967 during one of popular music’s most revolutionary eras.

These new gentle giants are by no means experimental freaks – great care in executing function, musicality, and control has gone into the design of these eminently playable supersized models that are sure to add new dimensions to drummers’ soundscapes.

Odds & Ends - Ungerade Erweiterungen

Nottwil/Switzerland – The renowned cymbal maker Paiste announces the launch of new sizes to a selected range of crash models.

Responding to popular demand from drummers and retailers world-wide, Paiste is making the Formula 602 Modern Essentials Crash, the Masters Dark Crash, and the PST 7 Crash & Thin Crash models available in 17" and 19" sizes. The new odd sized models offer Paiste aficionados a greatly improved selection for ever finer gradation in the selection of crash cymbals.

The Modern Essentials Crash models present clear, rich and strong accentuation, smooth feeling, and an explosive attack that fades quite swiftly. Modern Essentials cymbals were developed in collaboration with Vinnie Colaiuta, based on the venerable Formula 602.

The Masters Dark Crash models exude darkness, warmth, tender clarity, and a buttery, soft feel. Masters Dark Crashes were developed in collaboration with Gregory Hutchinson.

The PST 7 Crash models are bright, warm and brilliant with wide range, clean mix and responsive feel. The PST 7 Thin Crash models are warm and airy with a pinch of brilliant sizzle and a soft, responsive feel. PST 7 cymbals are the latest series in the Paiste Sound Technology range, and have since astonished the drumming world with their outstanding performance-to-price ratio.

Artist Inspiration:
Die Rückkehr des 22" Dry Heavy Rides,
zwei neue Kreationen & eine Namensänderung...

Nottwil/Switzerland – The renowned cymbal maker Paiste announces the introduction of the Signature 22" Dry Heavy Ride «Monad».

The «Monad» 22" Dry Heavy Ride was created in collaboration with the eclectic Danny Carey, uniquely known for his infusion of geometry, science and metaphysics into the art of drumming. The resulting playing style, which makes extensive use of polyrhythmic figures, odd meters and complex time signatures, is a characteristic feature of the sound of the Grammy Award winning cult band «Tool».

The newly developed model is based on the traditional Signature Dry Heavy Ride, which has been Danny’s main Ride cymbal since the 1990s. In this reincarnation, the model is coated in translucent purple, using Paiste’s proprietary ColorSound process, and features a lathed bell, using the unique Reflector finish.

The «Monad» 22" Dry Heavy Ride is a decidedly heavy cymbal capable of strong and cutting ride playing at elevated volume levels. It features a pronounced, articulate ping over a controlled, dark, deep and complex wash. The strong, full, yet very musical bell is well separated.

As a tribute to Danny’s inspiration, the label «Monad» and three metaphysical symbols, being Danny’s personal choices in keeping with his esoteric interests, have been placed on the cymbal.

Signature Series cymbals are made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century.

Artist Inspiration cymbals are created by Paiste featuring Artists’ uncompromising sound ideas and visual concepts.

* The re-launch under new name became advisable due to a legal challenge to the previous model designation by a competitive manufacturer.

Nottwil/Switzerland – The renowned cymbal maker Paiste announces the introduction of the Masters 20" Mellow Ride «Blue Bird».

The «Blue Bird» 20" Mellow Ride was created in collaboration with the inexhaustible André «Dédé» Ceccarelli, the iconic French Jazz drummer whose over half century career has won him numerous collaborations with international top acts in Jazz and beyond, and who is especially known for his subtlety, diversity, artistry, wide ranging ability and musical charm that effortlessly transcends genres.

This previously released model is being re-launched under a new designation*, and was conceived by Dédé as a sophisticated ride cymbal for application in smaller instrumentations and intimate settings.

The «Blue Bird» 20" Mellow Ride is a medium light cymbal with a distinctly sweet character and a fine, buttery feel. It features a silvery ping over a warm, mellow wash. Akin to Dédé, it easily transcends Jazz and finds broad musical application wherever refined articulation and cultured style are required.

As a tribute to Dédé’s inspiration, the label «Blue Bird» and a graphical rendition of the label supplied by Dédé have been placed on the cymbal.

Masters cymbals are made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century.

Artist Inspiration cymbals are created by Paiste featuring Artists’ uncompromising sound ideas and visual concepts.

Nottwil/Switzerland – The renowned cymbal maker Paiste announces the introduction of the Signature 20" Duo Ride «Vir2osity».

The «Vir2osity» 20" Duo Ride was created in collaboration with the legendary Carl Palmer, the drum virtuoso behind the progressive rock supergroup ELP, who powerfully incorporated classical and jazz influences into the early rock drumming of the 1970s and continues to distinguish himself with his inimitable and energetic drumming style that highlights technical prowess, speed and dexterity.

The newly developed model is loosely based on the original Signature Dry Dark Ride, with its characteristic, pronounced hammer marks on an earthy dark surface, being the result of intense heat treatment. The outer perimeter and the bell of the cymbal are then lathed using the unique Reflector finish.

The «Vir2osity» 20" Duo Ride executes Carl’s exclusive ideas for a variable ride cymbal with distinct playing zones. In general, this heavy cymbal features a fairly raw, earthy, complex wash that’s very tight and controlled. The overall glassy stick sound tends towards a drier, more raw and wooden note in the un-lathed zone, while the lathed zone presents a livelier, crisper and richer ping. The bell is well separated and decidedly loud and piercing.

As a tribute to Carl’s inspiration, the label «Vir2osity» and a rendition of Carl’s personal emblem have been placed on the cymbal.

Signature Series cymbals are made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century.

Artist Inspiration cymbals are created by Paiste featuring Artists’ uncompromising sound ideas and visual concepts.

Nottwil/Switzerland – The renowned cymbal maker Paiste announces the introduction of the 2002 24" Swish Ride «Signature Groove».

The «Signature Groove» 24" Swish Ride was created in collaboration with the prolific John «JR» Robinson, who kicked off his career via appearances with Chaka Khan’s Rufus and the Quincy Jones / Michael Jackson project «Off the Wall» in the late 1970s and went on to become one of the most recorded session and studio drummers in history, along the way developing his signature groove and inimitable «big» sound.

The newly developed model was conceived by JR as a complimentary ride cymbal to his Masters 24" Deep Ride. It is based on a variation of the traditional Chinese style cymbal shape commonly referred to as «Swish», and executed utilizing 2002 Alloy with its energetic and brilliant character.

The «Signature Groove» 24" Swish Ride is a clearly large cymbal with immense sound capacity and an extensive range of dynamics, being fully controllable at various volume levels. It features an earthy ping over an exotic and energetic wash and is capable of swelling, trash infused crashes for dramatic accents.

As a tribute to JR’s inspiration, the label «Signature Groove» and the musical notation of the famous JR drum intro to Michael Jackson’s «Rock with You» have been placed on the cymbal.

2002 cymbals are made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century.

Artist Inspiration cymbals are created by Paiste featuring Artists’ uncompromising sound ideas and visual concepts.

At its core, Masters Maple Complete utilizes Pearl’s Superior Shell Technology formation process to deliver all the power and pure Maple tone that made Masters great, with a more resonant twist. Its new EvenPly-Six premium North American Maple shell incorporates reduced-thickness, cross-laminated plies to create a 28% thinner shell than previous Masters drums. This increases resonance and response without sacrificing tonal purity and projection.

“Many great players made music history with the Masters MLX Maple shell,” confesses Pearl Vice President, Jerry Goldenson. “We’ve put a lot of effort into making sure all the best elements of previous Masters drums were incorporated into Masters Maple Complete; then we kicked it up a notch by offering it at a lower price!”

To maintain optimal resonance, Masters Maple Complete features professional hardware including SP-30 spurs, LB-40 floor tom legs insulated die-cast bass drum claws, and our sleek bridge-style CL lugs for reduced shell contact and improved shell performance. Five premium lacquer finishes are available in four pre-configured shell packs, as well as a host of component and add-on drums.

Session Studio Classic

For 2016, Pearl Europe is proud to introduce the Session Studio Classic, the return of the Session Series and the classic Session “sound.”

The Session Studio Classic follows the original Session “recipe” with blended Birch and Kapur shells, recreating the classic Session “sound” of strong attack and projection with outstanding lows and punch that you can feel.

The reinvented Session Studio Classic is equipped with high-end features you come to expect from Pearl. The Session Studio Classics are finished in the same gorgeous high-gloss “31 step” lacquer finishes that are featured on Masters, Reference and Masterworks.
Choose from three dazzling finishes including #103 Piano Black, #110 Sequoia Red, and #106 Antique Ivory. Masters OptiMounts are featured on SSC toms for maximum resonance and 100% slip-proof dependability.

Floor toms are equipped with Masters LB-40 and LG-40 legs and Masters SP-30 spurs are standard on SSC bass drums. RL-10/20 lugs, the same lugs used on the Session Series circa 1995 to 2003, are featured on SSC toms and bass drums respectively. Remo heads are featured on all Session Studio Classic drums for outstanding tone and durability.

The available Session Studio Classic snare drums feature SuperHoop II hoops with near-die cast rigidity for outstanding rimshots and cross-stick effects while still providing excellent “openness” and resonance. SuperHoop II hoops are also standard on SSC toms.

Three shell packs and individual components are available in shorter depths. Session Studio Classic 22” and 20” bass drums are 16” deep while the 24” is 15” deep to achieve a “shorter” note and quicker response. The rack toms are featured in classic 10”x7”, 12”x8”, and 13”x9” sizes for faster response and improved sensitivity. Floor toms are 14”x14” and 16”x14”.

Decade Maple

The Decade Maple series is a line offering Pearl's most affordable all-maple kits.

The final product of ten years of process and material refinement, Decade’s cross-laminated 6-ply all Maple shell incorporates Pearl’s proprietary Superior Shell Technology. The resulting 5mm shell projects with authority, reacting quickly to the stroke with beautifully resonant highs and thundering lows.

“We want this to be the first Professional drum kit the advancing player invests in,” states Raymond Massey, Pearl’s Director of Research and Development. “We took our time in the crafting and testing phase to make sure all the necessary features were present. Getting behind this kit, it’s immediately evident that Decade is just as much a primary kit for evolving players as it is a secondary “gigging” kit for the seasoned pro.”

The Decade Difference means 4 cultured lacquer finishes, low-mass/low-contact shell hardware, optimum shell performance, and rock-solid durability. The kit you’ve prepared yourself for is here, and with three shell packs starting at a staggering street price of € 899, it’s finally within reach.

Eliminator Redline Pedal

For over 15 years, Pearl’s Powershifter Eliminator pedals have become a standard for unlocking unlimited bass drum power and speed for the professional drummer.

Now, sporting a host of radical improvements, Pearl takes the new Eliminator: Redline to new vistas of pedal performance.

“These pedals play like they’ve been turbo-charged,” states Pearl Combo Marketing Manager Kevin Packard. “Thousands of players have made Eliminator their pedal of choice and they have a certain feel. We just wanted to take that Eliminator feel to a faster, smoother level.”

Patented features that made Eliminator a mainstay have been upgraded. The Interchangeable Cam System allows the player to quickly change pedal performance and feel with any one of three included cam profiles.

The power and feel can also be instantly adjusted with the Powershifter function. But new additions like the redesigned Control Core Quad Beater, Click-Lock Spring Adjustment with Rotor Tension Cradle, and NiNja precision axel Bearings made the Eliminator: Redline perform up to 85% faster than previous models in velocity testing.

Furthermore, all Pearl 1000 and 2000 Series Hi-Hat stands have been upgraded with Redline components. This assures the same feel across the pedal spectrum and increases fluidity in hi-hat compression and rebound.

Eliminator: Redline bass drum pedals come in both Single (P2050C) and Double (P2052C) chain drive models, Single (P2050B) and Double (P2052B) belt drive models, and Left-Handed Double Chain (P2052CL) and Belt (P2052BL) models. Eliminator: Redline hi-hat stands come in Twin-Cam two-legged H2000 and remote RH2000, and three-legged direct-drive H1000 models.

For a limited time, all Eliminator: Redline pedals will be available at the same low price as their Powershifter Eliminator predecessors.

Flat-Base 150 Series Hardware

Boasting a sturdy profile at over half the weight of most professional drum and cymbal stands, Pearl’s new 150 Series Flat-Based Hardware is an excellent choice for the gigging drummer on the move.

Taking on the flush-based platform of classic drum hardware, 150 Series Cymbal (C150S,) Cymbal Boom (BC150S,) and Snare (S150S,) stands are built to stand up to rigorous gigging and play at less than five pounds each. Each stand also changes quickly from flat-based to traditional single-braced legs by simply flipping the convertible tripod base.
“We have a lot of active gigging drummers here in-house at Pearl,” states Pearl’s National Director of Sales, Glen Caruba (himself an active studio and live drummer/percussionist.) “Our goal was to make a series of simple, lightweight stands that would break down and transport easily, but not scrimp on modern adjustability.”

Furthermore, the new 150 Series Hi-Hat (H150S,) is the first flat-based stand made to accommodate double pedals. Its independent tripod is positioned separate from the pedal frame, transitioning easily thanks to swiveling legs.

Its newly-redesigned Redline traction plate footboard also makes it the highest functioning lightweight stand ever, at a mere seven pounds.

Pearl mainstays like Uni-Lock gearless cymbal and basket tilters make finding the correct angle a breeze.

All this, plus accessible pricing make 150 Series Stands essential for the gigging player.
