Deutschland Sonorland !
Eine Frage (in English) aus Holland.
(Ich habe mehrere Fotos's wenn Sie wollen)

Hi everybody,

I knew it was there . . on an attic of a collegue.
Lost forever, suffering under tons of dust. Dying . .
I needed almost two years to persuade him to sell it. (for 115 euro = about 160 USD)
Today, at last, I released that poor prisoner, brought him to my house and applied first aid.
I removed the dust and the destroyed drumheads.

You can see what was left...

I think we're talking about Sonor Champion? Maybe Super Champion (it's got round bearing edges)?
And the snare? What am I looking at?
Sizes:
BD
24x14
Toms
13x9, 14x10, 16x16, 18x16
Snare
14 x 5

What's will be my next step?
The wrapping is not as good as it looks on the pics. Skratches.
Offcourse there is pitting on the hoops and other parts...
It is almost complete (only 2 toms lugs and 1 BD lug are missing.)

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

Nique

Hello,

Do you understand german, too? Or should we answer in english?

the next step? you should know by yourself ;)
sell it, recover it, play it, burn it... (just some thoughts :D)

-> recovering (new wrap)
-> oil or stain it (will look more precious)

nevertheless its futher your decision WHAT kind of restoration you choose :)

a friend of mine did this with a champion:

DrummerinMR,

thanks for your reply.
Looks very good.
But . . I'm afraid the wrapping is not easy to remove . .

I don't no what to do yet.

What precisely do you mean with "stain it" ?

in german it is "beize"

i put of the wrap of my old imperialstar... the 16" tom suckt, the glou of the wrap was everywhere :(
lots of little splinters were pulled out and it didn't looked good. if this happens you've got two possibilities: put new wrap on it or fix it with filler and paint it

thats what i did:

ho

i d first go and get the missing parts. then buy heads for the drums and put everything together. its dangerous handling the drums without heads and rims, cause you may easily damage the bearing edges, what may cause serious problems.
i would not tear the wrapping off. compared to my drums the championset looks like a new one. why not leave it porno-red as it is? a lovely colour!

greets

Just beautiful!!!

Awesome, already in red, i loved this drum, but now it's just perfect.

cool, zwar ist dieses Eiche Rustikal Finish nicht so ganz mein Ding, aber sieht definitiv nach was aus!

really nice
was it difficult to take the wrap off?

No, it was not difficult at all to remove the wrap. I could tear it off simply.
To remove the glue was a little more difficult. But it went well together with a hot föhn and sandpaper.

What are you going to do with the Set now? Play it, sell it?
