Empfehlung für erste E-Gitarre – welches Modell soll ich nehmen?

Hello everyone,


I have experience with acoustic and classical guitars, but now I want to buy my first electric guitar. My favorite bands are Linkin Park, Sum 41, and Slipknot. Even though these styles are my main focus, I have a very diverse musical taste overall—so I want a guitar that can also be used in other genres.


It's important to me that the guitar isn't just suitable for beginners, but that its sound satisfies me. Since I absolutely need to be able to practice with headphones because of my neighbors, I'd also appreciate tips on the right equipment.


Which guitar models would you recommend? And what accessories (amps, headphones, pedals, etc.) should I definitely get when starting out?

You didn't mention a price limit or focus what makes it impossible to make recommandations .

In principle it's hard to give you any advice because there is so much to consider including your physical sizes (arm length, finger length, hand size, ...).

It simply is important that you test on your own to have results on playability and sounds - but consider that a sound in a music shop may not be the same as in your room at home or on stage with whatever other equipment you may use.

On the one hand a Les Paul model with two humbucker pick-ups with separately adjustable tone and volume for each of it is very versatile. But on the other hand sound creation at least to a huge extend results from amps, speakers and especially the effect boxes in the signal chain between the amp and the guitar currently offering nearly all sounds for any guitar.

So as to have a maximum of possibilities for starting I recommend a multi effects machine and a transistor amp for most real reproduction of the effects' machine output.

Don't think too much about any firstly bought equipment with regard to usability for all future. It is normal that your taste and your intentions will change and your knowledge and skills will develop resulting in adding or changing gear by time.

Go and test something, chose what meets your tendencies to the most and then simply start. The rest will be matter of the future.

I agree with everything, @soundmunich told you.
Choose a guitar that fits to your hands and not at least, you have to like the look.
An LP-style guitar with two humbuckers (may be splitable) allows a lot of basic sounds. The rest will be done by a multi effect.
And.... it must not be one of the great names from USA, there are lot of good instruments in the cheaper category

Hi Aziz,
I've been using a G&L Tribute Legacy and a Valeton GP200 (a modeller) since I started playing again after a 33 year hiatus. The guitar cost around 450 Euros, the GP200 around 275. Recently I pimped the guitar with Humbucker pickups, but the sound was always good. You can check out some sound samples in my sig or (probably more along the lines you're interested in) the sound examples in this one. All the guitars in there are the G&L and the GP200. Using the GP200 allows me to play to backing tracks from YouTube using headphones and record everything in a DAW (recording software) on the computer, that's quite useful. I have no plans or need to change the guitar in the foreseeable future.

Hi @Aliz , also from me a warm welcome to the Board.
If you are a beginner with the elecrtic Guitar , make shure
that you feel good with the Guitar, I agree with @soundmunich
a Les Paul will do it , it is not complicated with the two Humbuckers
perhabs you should look for a Les Paul Custom with an Ebony Fingerboard.
If want an Amp look for a Boss Katana you can use it with Headphones.

First of all, congratulations on your decision to buy an electric guitar – it’s a wonderful choice!
One important thing that hasn’t been mentioned, but which I consider extremely important: you have to love the look of your new guitar. After all, who wants to play a great-sounding instrument that looks awful?

If you like the design, I can recommend a solid guitar that many of my students are very happy with: the Yamaha Pacifica.

As for amps and effects: if you plan to practice a lot with headphones, consider getting hardware/software for your mobile device, such as IK Multimedia – iRig. With this setup, you’ll also have the option of connecting to a Bluetooth speaker.
