    Epiphone at NAMM 2016
    02.01.2016
All eyes on the House of Stathopoulo at Annual Trade Event
    [IMG]
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show in Anaheim, California has been an annual tradition since 1919 and over the decades, Epiphone has never failed to make a big impression whether it was introducing electric instruments in 1939, ES-style models like the Casino in the early 60s, or last year's unveiling of the Ltd. Ed. Tommy Thayer "White Lightning" Les Paul Outfit. And as usual, this year Epiphone's exhibition area was never without a crowd.
The NAMM show gives dealers and retailers a sneak peak at new and innovative instruments like the PRO-1 Collection as well as Artist Signature Models like the Ltd. Ed. Tony Iommi SG Custom which last year had fans lining up around the building.
Here are some of Epiphone's highlights from this year's NAMM Show:
    The Critics Speak!
    "Epiphone nails it!"
Over the last few months, Epiphone has been wowing critics with instruments from every category. Guitar World's Chris Gill presented the Ltd. Ed. Gary Clark Jr. "Blak & Blu" Casino the magazine's Platinum Award calling it "by far the best Casino I've ever played." Guitar World also singled out the Tamio Okuda Coronet with its prestigious Gold Award saying it "nailed the authentic feel and vibe of a vintage Epiphone."
Guitar Player loved the Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa Les Paul with Bigsby® calling it "flawless" in their new February 2016 Editor's Pick Award. Lee Malia of Bring Me the Horizon got the attention of Guitar & Bass who gave his Ltd. Ed. Lee Malia Les Paul Custom the 2015 Gear of the Year Award. And last but not least, the February 2016 issue of Vintage Guitar praises the new Sheraton II PRO as "buttery" with "tone -- and style and build quality -- that you get for the price is hard to believe."
    New Acoustics for Spring 2016
Introducing the Ltd. Ed. EL-00 PRO Mahogany and Ltd. Ed. EJ-160E
    [IMG]
NAMM 2016 was also the formal premier of the Epiphone Ltd. Ed. EL-00 PRO Mahogany and Ltd. Ed. EJ-160E.
The EL-00 PRO Mahogany is the ultimate Epiphone blues box that's perfect for fingerpicking and slide and features a solid Mahogany top with true acoustic amplification with the Fishman™ Sonitone™ soundhole preamp and Fishman™ Sonicore™ system.
The Ltd. Ed. EJ-160E brings back one of the legendary guitars of rock n' roll with the same classic mid- 50s design but now with a Solid Spruce top and an Epiphone Stacked P-100™ pickup.
The Masterbilt 2015 AJ-45ME Acoustic/Electric brings the legendary J-45 round shoulder jumbo to the Masterbilt family. And the new Dobro® Hound Dog M-14 Metalbody Resonator guitar is Epiphone's best resonator yet and features a Bell Brass body with Nickel Plating.
Epiphone PRO-1™ Performance Packs with Rocksmith™
The fastest way to learn guitar!
Epiphone's worldwide dealers and fans alike got to see the new PRO-1™ Performance Packs up close. Featuring the PRO-1 Les Paul Jr. and the PRO-1 Explorer, each PRO-1 Performance Pack comes with Rocksmith--the fastest way to learn guitar--for the ultimate electric pack for new players.

Electar Inspired by "1939" Century Lap Steel Outfit
    [IMG]
Epiphone's Electar Inspired by "1939" Century Lap Steel Outfit is a one of a kind reissue of the Art Deco styled Hawaiian lap steel guitar that has become a vintage collector's favorite. Epiphone Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium
    02.01.2016
The Rock N' Roll Classic is back with Gibson® USA Dogear P-90 pickups
    [IMG]
Epiphone proudly presents the new Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium, one of the most iconic guitars in rock history now in three unique color finishes--Metallic Gold, Walnut, and Wine Red and featuring Gibson® USA Dogear P-90 pickups.
The original ES-295 archtop was first introduced in 1952 as a hollow body companion to the new Goldtop Les Paul, which was then catching on across the country. That '52 ES-295 full body archtop originally came in a stunning Metallic Gold finish, cream P-90 "dogear" style pickups, and an ornate pickguard that was easily recognized on stage. But the ES-295 really caught on when Scotty Moore, a 20-year old guitarist from Memphis, accompanied Elvis Presley on his first nationally televised appearances in 1956. From then on, the ES-295 was--for many kids discovering rock n' roll--the ultimate electric guitar for stirring up trouble. With a tone that could be biting one minute and smooth the next, the ES-295 was the one "box" a pro could take to any show or any session and make an impression. Now Epiphone--the original House of Stathopoulo and every hardcore guitarist's favorite archtop maker--brings you the new Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium powered by the same original Gibson® USA Dogear P-90 pickups and available for a limited time only at Select Epiphone Dealers.
    Premium Rock
The Epiphone ES-295 Premium features a Maple body with a Maple top finished with aged-style lacquer and is available in Metallic Gold, Walnut, or a Wine Red finish. The top has 3-layer Ivory/Black/Ivory binding while the body back and fingerboard have single layer Ivory binding. The Cream pickguard is just like the original with the same classic floral graphic. The Hard Maple neck has a comfortable and easy to play "1960's" SlimTaper™ D profile and is hand-set and glued to the body. The Rosewood fretboard has 20 medium jumbo frets, a 12" radius, pearloid Split "Parallelogram" inlays, and a 1.68" nut. The Sloped Dovewing headstock is the same profile seen on all of Epiphone's classic guitars from the 60s and features a pearloid "Epiphone" logo and "Crown" inlay. The 2-layer black/white truss rod cover has "ES-295 Premium" in white.
World Class Gibson® USA Dogear P-90 Pickups
The Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium is powered by two Gibson® USA Dogear P-90 pickups. For many guitar aficionados, there's no better single coil pickup than a P-90, which was Mr. Les Paul's first choice for his debut solid body guitar, the Les Paul. For the Epiphone ES-295 Premium, the rhythm position has a Gibson® USA Dogear P-90R and the lead position has a Gibson® USA Dogear P-90T wound slightly hotter for soloing. Each pickup has their own volume and tone control topped with iconic Gold "Speed" knobs with metal pointers. And each pickup is activated via a high quality Epiphone 3-position toggle switch.
    Epiphone Rock Solid Hardware
The new Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium like all Epiphones carries superb rock solid Epiphone hardware including a "Pinned" Rosewood bridge with adjustable Tune-o-matic saddles and a rock n' roll-approved Bigsby™ B70 Vibrato tailpiece. For the Metallic Gold finish, the ES-295 Premium features nickel hardware while the Walnut and Wine Red finishes have gold hardware. Tuning is fast and easy with Epiphone Deluxe™ machine heads with a pro-level 18:1 tuning ratio. And all great Epiphones carry the House of Stathopoulo's heavy duty ¼" rim mounted output jack. And to top it off, the ES-295 Premium is tuned up at the factory with industry renown D'Addario® 10-46 strings. An optional hard case is also available.
The Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium comes with Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and world-famous 24/7/365 Gibson Customer Service. But the new Epiphone Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium is available for a short time and only through select Epiphone Dealers. Visit your favorite Authorized Epiphone Dealer for details and don't delay in adding the Ltd. Ed. ES-295 Premium to your Epiphone collection.

    Ltd. Ed. Blue Royale Collection
    02.01.2016
Featuring the Les Paul Standard, Wildkat, Riviera Custom P93, Emperor Swingster, Jack Casady Signature Bass, and the historic Allen Woody Rumblekat™ in a rare Chicago Blue Pearl finish.
Epiphone presents the new Ltd. Ed. Blue Royale Collection featuring six historic Epiphone models in a beautiful new Chicago Blue Pearl color finish along with distinctive "Royale" style Silver Sparkle binding. Each Blue Royale instrument features superb Epiphone pickups and electronics along with the rock solid hardware you've come to expect from Epiphone. The Blue Royale Collection includes the Les Paul Standard, the Wildkat, the Riviera Custom P93, the Emperor Swingster, the Jack Casady Signature Bass, and the historic Allen Woody Rumblekat™. The Blue Royale Collection is available for a limited time only at Select Epiphone Dealers. Here's an overview of what you'll find in the exclusive Blue Royale Collection.
Epiphone's long friendship with legendary guitarist and innovator Les Paul dates back to the early 1940's when Les, working late at night at the Epiphone factory on 14th Street in New York City, created one of the world's first solid-body electric guitars, nicknamed "The Log."
The Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Standard Blue Royale is powered by Alnico Classic™ humbucker pickups, each specifically voiced for rhythm and lead positions to deliver the warm, rich tone known around the world as the "Les Paul Sound." Epiphone-designed humbuckers utilize a double vacuum waxing process that ensures quiet operation free from microphonic hum and only the highest quality parts are used including ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, Alnico magnets (just like original hand wound and sought after vintage pickups) and the finest magnet wire available. Includes a LockTone™ Tune-o-matic fully adjustable bridge and Stopbar tailpiece with Grover® Rotomatic 18:1 machine heads.
The Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Wildkat Blue Royale features the timeless Wildkat profile made from Mahogany with a Maple top and classic Epiphone styled f-holes. The glued-in Hard Maple neck is hand-set and has a fast and comfortable SlimTaper™ D-profile with a 24.75" scale and a 12" radius. The neck has a beautiful Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid 'dot' inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets. The body has Royale-style Silver Sparkle binding on the front and single layer Silver Sparkle binding on the neck.
The Wildkat Blue Royale is powered by Epiphone-designed P-90 Dogear Classic pickups, the world's best single coil pickups with Alnico magnets for precise articulation. Each pickup is activated via an Epiphone 3-way toggle switch for rhythm, lead, and a standard middle position for both pickups. Controls include Master Volume, Master Tone, and individual volume controls for each pickup with Black "Top Hat" knobs with metal inserts. Includes a time-tested Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-o-matic bridge plus a Bigsby™ B70 Vibrato tailpiece and Grover® Rotomatic™ 18:1 machine heads.
The Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 is modeled after one of Epiphone's most enduring classics, the Riviera. First introduced in the early '60s, the Epiphone Riviera's semi-hollow design has been a favorite of players from all genres and generations including blues great Otis Rush, Lou Reed of the Velvet Underground, and The Strokes' Nick Valensi, who have all found that the Riviera's legendary ES-body shape could produce great tones with any pickup variation. Over the years, the Riviera has been seen with humbuckers, mini-humbuckers, and P-90s.
The Riviera Custom P93s semi-hollowbody sound is powered by three Epiphone "Dogear" P-90 pickups with Alnico™ V magnets. Controls include 3 individual Volume pots (for each pickup) and 1 Master Tone topped with Epi Black "Top Hat" knobs with metal inserts. The all-metal toggle works as it would with a 2-pickup guitar with the rhythm position activating the neck pickup and the lead toggle position activating the bridge pickup. The middle pickup can be used in any position by adjusting its volume control. The Riviera Custom P93 Blue Royale comes standard with solid nickel hardware, vintage-style 14:1 ratio machine heads, an Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-o-matic bridge, plus a legendary Bigsby® B70 tremelo. And every Blue Royale guitar is strung at the Epiphone factory with world famous D'Addario® 10-46 strings.
The Ltd. Ed. Emperor Swingster Blue Royale features a hand-scalloped arched Select Spruce top with a laminated arched-back Maple body. The glued-in Hard Maple neck has an easy-to-play SlimTaper™-D profile and a 24.75" scale length. The Rosewood fingerboard has a 12" radius with 20 medium jumbo frets and features pearloid Emperor style "block" inlays. The Swingster is powered by Epiphone's new SwingBucker™ pickups, specially designed for the Emperor Swingster featuring classic Alnico-V magnets with enamel wire and over-wound coils for the perfect combination of warmth and bite. Two push/pull Tone controls with Black "Top Hat" knobs with Metal Inserts allow you to change each SwingBucker's output individually from parallel to series wiring, creating a wide palette of incredible sounds ranging from warm humbuckers to "quacky" single-coil type sounds and everything in-between. It comes with a Bigsby® B30 with original style "wire" handle and Grover Rotomatics™ machine heads with a pro-level 18:1 tuning ratio.
The Jack Casady Signature Bass was designed by Casady in collaboration with Epiphone and is the culmination of years of experimentation by the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame bassist to find an instrument with superb, balanced electric tone and the response of an acoustic bass.
The Ltd. Ed. Jack Casady Blue Royale Bass features a Maple body with a Maple top finished in a stunning Chicago Blue Pearl finish with the "Royale Collection's" famous Silver Sparkle binding. The hand-set Mahogany neck has a 34" scale with a Rosewood fingerboard, a 1.6535" nut, and Jack's signature on the headstock. The JCB-1 low impedance, low output pickup was designed by Epiphone and Casady and employs a three-position transformer to shape the frequency response. The 3-point adjustable bridge and classic style 19:1 ratio tuners are identical to what Casady uses on-stage. "The workmanship that's coming in on these instruments is just super," said Casady. "Every year I get two new instruments that I take out on the road. No ringers. I have none that are set up a special way or anything like that and they are great."
The Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat bass was the result of a historic collaboration with Epiphone and the late great Allen Woody, the legendary bassist for the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule. The Allen Woody Rumblekat is one of the few pro electric basses available anywhere with a 30" scale length (compared to the "standard" scale length of 34") and features a 2.1" thick sound chambered Mahogany body and a 5-ply flame Maple top. There are no f-holes but the lightweight and sound-chambered body produces clear and complex low-end tones. The Rumblekat Blue Royale is powered by a NYR™ mini Bass humbucker neck pickup and a NYT™ mini-humbucker pickup mounted in the middle position. With their smaller size, narrow magnetic field, and unique design combination, the mini-humbucker produces a bright and focused output while retaining "hum-free" performance. As Bassics Magazine said in their starred review: "Using the tone knob and a little pickup bleeding, you can really get this thing to shake the walls in the lower register and have a nice open singing sound in the upper registers." With a vintage style 3-point Adjustable bridge and premium die-cast machine heads with a 17:1 ratio.
Like all Epiphones, the new Ltd. Ed. Blue Royale Collection instruments come with Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson 24/7/365 Customer Service. But visit your Authorized Epiphone Dealer soon because the Blue Royale Collection is available for a limited time only at Select Epiphone Dealers.

    Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Casino Coupe
    05.01.2016
A rock classic in "coupe racing" size in Ebony or Inverness Green color finish
    [IMG]
    * Available at Select Retailers Only.
Epiphone presents the Ltd. Ed. Casino Coupe™, the legendary hollowbody reborn in an ES-339 body size. Available for a limited time in Ebony and Inverness Green color finishes only at select retailers. Visit your Authorized Epiphone Dealer for details.
The Casino Coupe is a compact "coupe"-sized version of the Epiphone Casino, the iconic hollowbody that for over 50 years has been a favorite of tone connoisseurs from Keith Richards to The Beatles to GRAMMY winner Gary Clark Jr. The new Ltd. Ed. Casino Coupe™ has all of the Casino's trademark features--from neck size to tone woods to pickups--but in a smaller "Coupe" size for easy travel.
    Classic Casino Form
The Ltd. Ed. Casino Coupe™ features the familiar Casino profile but in a smaller body size similar to the ES-339 in an Ebony or Inverness Green color finish. The body and top are
    [IMG]
made from 5-layer laminated Maple with single layer ivory color binding on the top and back. The orange soundhole label has the same typeface and design as 60s-era vintage models and the white and black 3-layer pickguard gives the Casino Coupe a classic look. The Mahogany neck has single-ply ivory color binding. The Rosewood fingerboard has Pearloid "Parallelogram" Inlays and a 24.75" scale, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 1960's SlimTaper™ profile, and a 1.68" nut.
The Heart of the Casino, "dogear" P-90s
Like the original Casino, the Ltd. Ed. Casino Coupe has full-size, full power Epiphone "dogear" P-90s. The P-90 was first introduced by Gibson Brands in 1948 and is regarded by many as the most versatile and best sounding single coil pickup made. With a full rounded tone, the P-90 is the "all purpose" pickup, capable of sharp lead tones, clean rhythm punch, and gritty, easily controllable feedback. And combined with the pure hollowbody of the Coupe, a guitarist can achieve almost acoustic tones at low volume. Each pickup has individual volume and tone controls with Tom Hat knobs with metal inserts and pointers.
    All-metal Hardware
The Ltd. Ed. Casino Coupe comes with all-metal nickel hardware including a LockTone™ Tune-o-matic bridge with a Coupe Trapeze tailpiece and an Epiphone 1/4" heavy-duty output jack. The "Deluxe" machine heads have vintage style small metal buttons with a 14:1 ratio and are mounted on a Sloped Dovewing headstock that has a 14 degree angle like 60s era models. The truss rod cover has a classic "Bullet" shape with the "E" in white silkprint.
    Limited Lifetime Warranty
Like all Epiphones, the Ltd. Ed. Casino Coupe comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and 365/24/7 Gibson Customer Service. Available at select retailers for a limited time only. Visit your Authorized Epiphone Dealer for details or visit Epiphone.com to find a dealer near you!

    06.01.2016
"1966" Century Archtop, Les Paul Traditional PRO-II and more!
Epiphone kicks off the summer by introducing four spectacular new guitars for NAMM 2016. This June, Epiphone will present the Inspired by "1966" Century Archtop, the Les Paul Special VE™, the Les Paul Traditional PRO-II™, and the Ltd. Ed. Inspired by "1955" Les Paul Custom™ Outfit.
The NAMM show has been an annual tradition for Epiphone since 1919, and over the decades the House of Stathopoulo has never failed to make a big impression whether it was introducing electric instruments in 1939, ES-style models like the Casino in the early '60s, or last year's unveiling of the Ltd. Ed. Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Standard w/Bigsby®. For Summer NAMM 2016 held in Nashville, Epiphone has lots of surprises in store. Check it out!
Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Inspired by "1955" Les Paul Custom™ Outfit
Featuring Gibson USA Soapbar P-90 pickups and a vintage style hard case

    • Available at Authorized Retailers starting in June 2016
    • Est. U.S. Street Price: $799

The new Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Inspired by "1955" Les Paul Custom™ Outfit is a historic reissue of the "tuxedo" Les Paul that Les designed to be the most beautiful electric guitar ever made. Les' original Les Paul Custom featured a striking Ebony finish and gold hardware that would not only look great with a "tux" but was designed to convince skeptics that the new--and controversial--"solid body" electric guitar was a refined and classy instrument. Epiphone's long friendship with Mr. Les Paul began in the 1940s and throughout his life, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone reviewing new products and offering suggestions. "They are damn fine instruments, I swear by them!" said Les.
The new Ltd. Ed. Inspired by "1955" Les Paul Custom™ Outfit has the same profile of 50s era Les Paul Customs with a Mahogany body in an Aged Gloss Ebony finish. The Ltd. Ed. Inspired by "1955" Les Paul Custom™ Outfit is powered by Gibson USA Soapbar P-90 pickups with gold pole screws. P-90 pickups are recognized as the most powerful and versatile single-coil pickups ever made and were Les’ favorite style of pickup for his personal Les Pauls. The "1955" Les Paul Custom Outfit comes with Epiphone's Heavy-Duty Non-Rotating 1/4" output jack with a Square Jack Plate, a gold LockTone™ Tune-o-matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece, and gold Epiphone "Deluxe" machine heads with an 18:1 turning ratio. A vintage style hard case and certificate of authenticity are included. Visit the product page for more info.

    Building the Masterbilt Century Collection
    07.01.2016
A new era for the modern archtop
    [IMG]
The new Epiphone Masterbilt Century Collection is--in many ways--a continuation of founder Epi Stathopoulo's dream to build a guitar that was elegant, timeless, groundbreaking and affordable. Though it might sound strange to call a new archtop with Art Deco era design features "groundbreaking," look again: the Masterbilt Century Collection is actually a futuristic guitar disguised as a historic timepiece.
Just as the original Masterbilt archtops were built to project over a big band and be heard in large dancehalls, the all new Masterbilt Century archtops can hold their own with any rock band without sacrificing great tone thanks to the custom eSonic HD system. After all, great tone was what made the archtop the most desirable acoustic guitar of its era.
The original Masterbilt Collection was created in a moment of inspiration and practicality. In the early 1930s, with banjo sales plummeting and fretted instrument sales rising, Epi Stathopoulo directed his staff to design a big, beautiful, and loud acoustic guitar. Launched at the dawn of the dance band era, Epiphone archtops were an instant hit, and for the next 15 years Epiphone acoustic archtops were revered by the best players along with brands like Stromberg, D'Angelico, and Gibson. But when rock n' roll arrived, acoustic archtop guitars virtually disappeared. The new era of popular music demanded volume. And though the profile remained, archtops went from being primarily acoustic guitars to electric guitars with an electric guitar magnetic pickup, effectively removing any tone from the "top." And for almost 50 years, as acoustic players turned instead to flattops, few realized that there was more than one kind of acoustic guitar sound.
The new Masterbilt Century Collection instruments will be a revelation to many players whose only experience with an archtop guitar have been surviving models from Sears, Harmony, and Silvertone that were often made of plywood and constructed cheaply and quickly. The new De Luxe, Zenith, and Olympic archtops both turn the clock backward and forward simultaneously by combining Epiphone's proprietary construction methods with improved hardware and custom electronics. The Masterbilt Century Collection will turn the heads of even veteran players. What's old is new again--just further proof that the House of Stathopoulo was always pointing toward the future, even in 1932.
    Building A 21st Century Archtop
But bringing that classic (and coveted) Epiphone archtop tone into the 21st century required looking at the original designs with a critical eye to see what made them tick. Luckily, most of those answers could be found in the Epiphone Historic Collection at Epiphone's headquarters in Nashville, TN.
"We've managed to build a collection of 50 pre-Gibson ownership instruments dating back to the early 1900's," said Gibson President Dave Berryman. "That era was very rich and we've tried to build a collection that's representative of all those key models. And we've been building on that slowly so it's been a labor of love."
When Richard Akers and Scott Harrison from Epiphone's R&D team were tasked with creating a new archtop for the 21st century, they were already familiar with the various designs of the Masterbilt era. "The longitudinal bracing was key to keeping that Epiphone tone," said Scott Harrison. "Every year was slightly different so we tried to put together the best qualities from that era, especially the bracing methods and solid wood tops."
Epiphone archtops are renowned for their unique body shape--slightly different than Gibson (their main competitor) as well as for their elegant hardware like the traditional tailpiece and machine heads. The new Masterbilt Century machine heads recreate the unique look of the originals but with a vastly improved tuning ratio. "We were able to maintain the cool retro vibe and art deco appearance of the historic tuners while improving the functionality." said Richard Akers. "With an 18:1 tuning ratio, you have greater accuracy and stability. This
    [IMG]
collection has been a longtime dream of ours. The results have been even better than we expected."
Another inspiration for the Masterbilt Century Collection was the realization that many younger guitar players had never played a properly constructed archtop. "For many guitarists, playing an archtop will be an entirely new experience," said Harrison. "Most players haven't had an affordable alternative to a flattop guitar since Epi Stathopoulo made the originals. Even pros have had a hard time finding vintage Epiphones--no one wants to let go of them."
So what's so special about an archtop? For many, an archtop produces not only a slightly more focused sound without as many overtones as a flattop, but a more true expression of the player. For over twenty years, Grammy winner Dave Rawlings has performed practically all of his concerts and recording dates with Gillian Welch with an original 1935 Epiphone Olympic, precisely because it doesn't sound like a flattop guitar. Rawlings was impressed that the new Masterbilt Century Olympic will provide players the same unique tonal palette as his original. "A fiddle or a mandolin--anything else will destroy a bluegrass guitar unless you're Clarence White or Brian Sutton or someone who can jam that soundhole into a microphone and make it roar. My '35 Olympic is the kind of guitar that you could give to a dozen different people and they would find a way to make their living. It's just that right combination that makes for a magical box."
Of course Epiphone was not only known for giving players superior tone but also for beautiful design. The new Masterbilt Collection features the iconic headstock banner found on rare early 30s era Epiphones. The new Masterbilt Century headstock--with its combination of elegant script with black and gold typeface--shows the same attention to detail that made Epiphone a leader in archtop design and a decades-long competitor with Gibson.
    Great Sound in Any Size
    [IMG]
There are a variety of sizes available to players in the new Masterbilt Century Collection, a nod to the era of healthy competition when archtops went from small to big to bigger! And no matter what your style, a player will find their "voice" in a Masterbilt Century Guitar. The De Luxe and De Luxe Classic feature the 17" size body preferred by players who want maximum power and tone. The Zenith and Zenith Classic have a 16" body with a more focused tone. While the Olympic's smaller body and unique mid-range make it a perfect lead instrument next to traditional acoustic guitars and mandolins.
"Listening to people like the Delmore Brothers--where there was a tenor guitar and an acoustic--or the Blue Sky Boys where there was a mandolin and a guitar-- that's what pushed me into wanting to hear something that was in that world," recalled Dave Rawlings on choosing his vintage Olympic.
Unlike vintage budget archtops currently on the market (and often coming apart at the seams), the new Masterbilt Century Collection not only features solid wood tops but quality Ebony and Rosewood fingerboards. "These guitars will be so useful to players," said studio ace and rising Americana star Chris Scruggs. "They're made to last. And they're beautiful, too! It's great to see the vintage style headstock and the binding in a new guitar. There is nothing like a great Epiphone."

Epiphone ProBuckers™ feature all the same ingredients as original "PAF style" and BurstBucker™ pickups including Alnico II magnets, Elektrisola magnet wire, 18% nickel silver unit bases and covers, and pole screws, slugs and bobbins manufactured to Gibson's original specifications. Both pickups feature coil-splitting via a push/pull control at each pickup's volume knob, which gives the Les Paul Custom PRO KOA the ability to be any guitar you can imagine.
