Rockabilly mit härterer Gitarre stell ich mir vor.
So wie sie die Matadors spielen.
In E mit finsterem Grundriff. So dieser typische E-G Wechsel.

müsste eigentlich andersrum stehen "..in time for cover", sonst bezieht sich das "schutz suchen" auf die "zeit" - also, du "suchst schutz in der zeit"

hier hakts auch, "worthless like a rusty dime" vielleicht?
If you see cars with coated flames
das "coated" bezieht sich auf die flammen, aber die sind ja nicht lackiert, sondern das auto ist mit flammen lackiert. "coated on flames" würde gehen, oder etwas in der art

auch nicht gut, und ja gerade schon dagewesen. vielleicht da was anderes?

müsste "and a crown on the hood" - wäre da nicht auch ein "scoop" passender?

tja, die pipes. natürlich heisst "auspuff" "exhaust pipe" spezielle ja auch "side pipes", nur kürzt man die mit "exhaust" oder "side" ab. es gibt auch das schöne wort "muffler". bei "rotten pipes" denke ich an "vergammelte flöten" - wie man das lösen kann, kein plan!

der satz ist past, macht keinen sinn.

ich würde ja an deiner stelle überlegen, den etwas nach "evil-metal" klingenden mittelteil. (mankind is a stupid race) gegen einen mehr autobezogenen teil zu ersetzen. der passt da irgendwie nicht. und was für ein herrliches wortspiel ergibt sich aus "race" und "race"! "the quartermile of death" oder sowas, "the ultimate race of the doomed race" was weiss ich - du bist der poet...

nur so ein kleiner tipp, natürlich eine geschmacksfrage

Hi wilbour-cobb,

danke für die Korrekturen und Vorschläge.
Ich schau mir das in der Mittagspause mal genau an und poste dann 'ne 2. Version.
Quartermile of death hört sich Klasse an. MUSS ich irgendwie verwenden.
Du hast recht. Ich hab' mit der ganzen mankind-Strophe auch immer etwas gehadert. Werd' die komplett umtexten.

Ich hab mir übrigens vor ein paar Wochen die Horrorbilly 9000 von den Matadors gekauft.
Die hör ich seit dem rauf und runter. Eine der besten Scheiben, die ich mir in den letzten Jahren geholt hab'.

das "like" vielleicht durch "in" ersetzen? der kopf explodiert ja nicht wie eine überladung, da explodiert ja nix, aber ein elektrisch überladener kopf explodiert.

den "aspiration mouth" kenn ich nicht, aber da kann ja vom "radiator" über den "scoop" ( den musst du einfach einbauen" alles rein.

ich übernehm' deine Vorschläge gern,
aber ich weiß leider nicht was scoop bedeutet.
Ist das auch so etwas wie ein Ansaugstutzen oder eine Hutze?
Wenn ja dann kann ich das an Stelle von aspiration mouth nehmen.
Den Ausdruck hab ich aus'm leo. Scoop geht aber besser über die Lippen.
