Hi,
und mal wieder nen Songtext von mir, zum Korrigieren
Inspiriert hat mich diesmal der Film "About a boy" mit Hugh Grant...
Es geht eigentlich darum, dass wir heutzutage jeder in seiner eigenen Welt lebt. Der Typ in dem Song versucht, jemand anderen davon zu überzeugen, ihre Welten zu vereinen...

Hi,
sprachlich lasse ich hier den Natives den Vortriit. Inhaltlich finde ich den Text super, vorallem mit den Bildern etc. und ich könnte mir da so eine lockere etwas "schwingende" Skanummer drunter vorstellen oder was schnelles und sehr hartes

Vorallem die Zeilen sind super:

Well, I think you've already been hurt so many times,
I regret I can't promiss you I won't do the same,

Einzig allen die ersten 4 Zeilen gefallen mir nicht:

Each man is an island, Da musste genauer werden. Jemand ohne Hintergrundinformationen wird das Bild nicht verstehen.
Well, I know this has already been said before...
But now, I say it once again,
I think it's gonna hurt me once more...Die letzten 3 Zeilen lösen bei mir so eine "Toll, aber wann fängst du jetzt an mit dem Song?"-Stimmung aus.

Each man is an island, Da musste genauer werden. Jemand ohne Hintergrundinformationen wird das Bild nicht verstehen.

Nicht unbedingt. Bei relativ bekannten Zitaten darf man als Künstler ruhig voraussetzen, dass die Hörer/Leser, die man ansprechen will, diese kennen oder verstehen. Und da hier ja sogar gleich danach erwähnt wird, dass das ja bereits jemand anderes gesagt hat, ist das hier ne ziemnlich sichere Numnmer. Ich fände es übrigens auch ohne jegliches Hintergrundwissen sehr leicht und verständlich: jeder mensch ist eine insel entspricht einer "eigenen Welt". Deutlicher geht es doch kaum.

Das ist ein Zitat des norwegischen Dichters Tarjei Vesaas. Ob es in England/USA genau so bekannt ist wie hier, weiß ich nicht. Aber ich nehme es an, weil es schon Lyric-Variationen davon gibt, ZB: NO Man is an island...
