Die Person, der mein Herz weiterhin/auch heute noch gehört, hat das Vertrauen in mich (Lyrisches Ich) einmal und für immer verloren ...

The one my heart belongs to / is still belonging to has lost the/her trust in me (some time ago) ...

Genau das ist es denk ich mal

Edit:
In Fade to black singt J. Hetfield auch "the will to live", also ginge the wohl auch in Ordnung. Komisch, mein Sprachgefühl sagt was anderes XD
