jou, netter text, ich denke ich hab begriffe worums geht. ein paar anmerkungen...

this is the hardcore thing "hardcore thing" finde ich etwas komisch, "hardest thing" wäre vielleicht was...?

you better are FOR something hier würde man sagen, "..you better be for.."

hört sich irgendwie komisch an

ja, ist aber eine gute übersetzung eigentlich
es soll bedeuten, das man sich selbst nich showen soll, sich nicht wichtig machen, seinen ruf hintenan stellen, und das zu leben was man proklamiert, egal ob andere einem dafür dann sheisse finden, resp. der ruf zunichte gemacht wird.
ich weiss, da kommt man evtl anfangs nicht draus, aber ich denk, das ist ok so, schliesslich ists was zum nachdenken drin, oder?
und so erklärt macht das ganze auch sinn?

Ich habe zuerst gar nicht kapiert, worauf sich we want you to bring bezieht. Ich würde das umstellen und dann etwas modifizieren, so in etwa:
live what you proclaim
we want you to bring
what we call the hardcore thing (harcore swing fände ich auch nicht übel)

Text ist soweit so klar. Finde ihn ein bißchen plakativ - aber das ist vielleicht gewollt.

ja, also der text ist sehr unpoetisch ich weiss... aber das darf dieser auch einmal sein.
muss das ein 'any' sein? geht 'an' wirklich nicht?

Nein - das any war ein Vorschlag meinerseits. Das kann komplett wieder weg - an Deinem Satz ist nix falsches.

Plakativ geht in die Richtung: Sätze mit drei Ausrufezeichen bzw. ist die Stufe vor jemandem mit dem Holzhammer seine Meinung einzutrichtern. Meinte ich aber wertneutral. Also genau wie Du sagst: wenig poetisch.

Finde ich aber auch okay. Nicht jeder Text muss poetisch sein und mehrbändige Deutungswerke hinter sich herziehen. Völlig in Ordnung.

Ist auch wirklich Geschmacksache. Wobei ich eben so Sätze wie "Hey Hey You - Get out off my clouds" (Stones) allemal Aussagesätzen wie "You are getting on my nerves" vorziehe. Das mit den clouds ist auch nicht wirklich poetisch - aber ich finde es ausdrucksstärker, gerade weil es seine eigentliche Aussage nicht vor sich herträgt wie ein Plakat.
