Danke!

Hi guys, sorry for my horrific German language.

Here is my home DIY guitar building project.
It is going to be a Jackson Randy Rhoads copy.

Here is the guitar:

I still need a neck for this project, so if you have a spare one available, I will be happy to buy it or to trade it for my spare Squier Standart Strat neck.
I am after a really cheap Jackson neck with no shark fin nlays and no Floyd Rose locking nut.
Any neck from a cheap BC RICH, ESP (LTD) would be fine too.

Thanks for watching!

Hi an greetings for your project,

Although I don't really like RR's, this worl looks verry interesting!
You made also a GREAT video imo, so i'll give you a rate.

Good luck with your guitar and sorry for my bad English,
lorenz

Thanks mate, your Eglish is fine.
Better than mine actually. :)

Best guitar making video ever !!! The best part is the careful hammering on the hard wood block you set in the routed area :)

PS: How did you come up with "Das Gebäude ..." ??? Because of HOMEbuilt?

In English the text would be translated:
The building of my guitar... (building like eg a house)
Hello guys, sad for my horrofying German language.
I will proclaim the same text at the bottom.
...
Is here the guitar (link)

I still need a reason for this project, when you would happen to have a spare one, I'm happy, to buy it or trade it for my spare Squier Standart Strat reason ...

So once again it proves that translation machines suck :screwy:

Thanks for all your compliments.

Yes, I used an automatic translator ( www.babelfish.altavista.com ) to do the German translation and, of course, it messed up the translation.

I meant that i need a GUITAR NECK, not a "reason".
What is the word for guitar neck in German?
Hals?

Yeah it is... "Gitarrenhals" actually...

Hi guys, thanks again for all your compliments.

No, I don't live in Russia.
I am Bulgarian and thus the Cyrillic letters on the glue (hey, we invented the Cyrillic alphabet).

Anyway, I am still looking for a neck for my project. I can't even route the pockets for the pickups and calculate the bridge placement without having the neck in my hands, so its lack keeps my hands tied and the project frozen at this stage.

I've tried eBay many times but there are those "bid junkies" or "bid addicts" - people who brainlessly bid for things, careless of their real price and all the auctions I have watched ended up with ridiculously high final bids.

I can't compete with people who like to pay $300 for a single neck (I can buy 2 second hand guitars for that money).

@Sam Razr, the neck from that eBay auction is horrible.
Some kid made it for fun.
Have a look at the horrible fret job - the kid spilled the glue all over the fretboard and filed the tops of the frets flat.
Even though this neck is a total nightmare, I still believe that it will reach high bids regardless.
The bid junkies are never asleep. :)

i know.
was just an exemple. but every 2 days in ebay new frets
search for neck, guitar neck, jackson guitar neck
I believe, you'll find one in a few weeks

I've been searching for a suitable neck on eBay (a neck without shark fin inlays and without Floyd Rose locking nut) for months.
The bid junkies are always outbidding me. I bad for a neck that was almost a total ruin. I thought that at least a ruined neck won't be of any interested to the bid addicts.
Alas, I was wrong - the trashed neck sold for $145. :)

I can't spend too much on a neck, unfortunately my budget is pretty limited.
A friend of mine posted two ads in the right sections on this forum.
In German too.
But then I learned that I cannot add more posts to the ads and he has misspelled my nickname as well. :)

If anybody can help me post my own ad in German, I will be very thankful.

Thanks guys!

hows about to build a own neck?

That's the other problem.
No body works with maple here.
They use pine, spruce and beech only. Also MDF, plywood and other artificial materials.
No maple, though.
I couldn't find a single piece anywhere and I don't think that it would be wise to buy maple online and to pay for expensive overseas shipping because I would be better off buying a pre-made neck for the same money.

another alternative would be to buy a custom-made from warmoth, which are actually a bit expensive, but worth their price. moreover, you might buy a prefabricated one at rockinger, where you just cut out the headstock-style of your own desire.
but i still guess ebay is the most simple way to get one, just try ebay from other countries and import the neck.
regards, kosai :)

I know the necks from Warmoth and Rockinger.
They are bloody expensive.
$260 just for a neck?!
How about a brand new Jackson JS30RR guitar for that money? :)

If I was willing to spend enormous amounts of money on this project, it'd be finished by now.

the rockinger-necks are just about 170€, i don't think that this is far too much.
a brand new JSRR is worth like nothing for me, just because its a new guitar. if i was you i wouldnt be pleased by saving too much at the neck. remind that you did a great job on the corpus, so why take a neck thats worse than the corpus?
thats just how i think about it.
regards, kosai

Kosai, 170€ = US $231.
That's a retardedly high price - again, you can buy a very good second hand guitar for that money. Or, if you are lucky, a good brand new one from the cheap models.

My guitar building project is just for fun and is something to prepare me for the real deal - a copy of Jeff Waters'es signature Ran guitar.
That axe is awesome and i am going to build it, when (or should I say "if") I find proper wood.

Thanks for liking the project.
Still it is just a completely cut down version of what I will be doing in future. It's just a test project, if you like.
I don't want to invest in a freaking expensive neck from a "reputed" guitar parts supplier.
It just won't make any sense to attach a $250 neck to a piece of spruce and plywood.

This is why I am looking for a cheap Jackson, ESP, BC Rich or whatever pointy neck to test how things would turn out at the end.

Thanks!

Well The Gorer, since you are rather new here, and not speaking German well, I can understand that you haven't seen this part of the forum (click).
You better can ask your question over there, or look in the "verkauf" (I sell) part of the guitar "flohmarkt" (second hand market) for "gitarrenhals".
When you find something intresting you van react by PN (personal message/ "persönliche nachrichten") that pops up when you click on the name of the user.

BTW: I know some Bulgarian guitar players here in Spain, they are very good and used to play all over the world.
One prefers rock/ hard rock, the other one does a good "shadows" covering, with the typical bendings and also plays a bouzouki with humbucker style pick-ups (Greec style of music).

Thanks NightflY.
A friend of mine posted an ad on my behalf in the right sections of the forum but, unfortunately, oce you post an ad, no one can post in the threads, so I couldn't introduce myself there.
Plus he misspelled my nickname.

I guess i will post my own ads in English or using the funny Babelfish online translation again.

What are those BG dudes called?
I have never heard of BG musicians in Spain. Normally they go north to Scandinavia like Nikolo Kotzev did.

Rgeards!
