Neben den Anmerkungen von nate - was ich nicht recht verstehe ist, dass Du einerseits schreibst, Du wartest und Dir bleibt auch nix anderes mehr übrig und dass Du aber nicht mehr warten kannst (can´t be waiting for you).

Das ist als Spannung zwischen zwei Zuständen so durchaus machbar, mir gerät aber auch durcheinander, ob Du auf eine bestimmte Person nicht mehr warten magst (waiting for you in Sinne von Warten auf Dich), von der Du Dich erst frei machen mußt oder eher allgemein auf eine unbestimmte Person (You im Allgemeinen).

War wieder ganz spontan,ich wollte es halt auf verschiedene Bereiche beziehen warten auf seine eigene Freundin und die Freunde bzw. gefällt mir gut ...paar erklärungen brauch ich da oben noch, weil die sätze sich nicht erschließen

Ok, ich wurde nicht gefragt und bin mit an absolute Sicherheit grenzender Wahrscheinlichkeit keine Autorität auf diesem Gebiet... aber vielleicht kann ich bei einer der beiden unklaren Zeilen konstruktiv meine Meinung einbringen
Ich persönlich kannte "to vamp" überhaupt nicht, habs aber mal online nachgeschlagen und bin auf 1."run,escape,leave" oder 2."provoke,bother,to hit on s.o." gestoßen.
D.h.: Wenn du meinst, dass er vor diesen dunklen Gestalten wegläuft, müsstest du mMn zumindest die Präposition from benutzen oder den Teil ganz ändern - evt. sowas wie: "trying to escape from daunting shadows (guises)". Solltest du zweiteres meinen, würde ich "facing daunting/scary/(shady) figures/shadows/(guises)" vorschlagen.
Weiß nicht ob ich mit meinen Vermutungen annähernd richtig liege und/oder meine Vorschläge wirklich idiomatisch sind - sollte letzteres nicht der Fall sein wird Nate mich sicherlich korrigieren können - , aber womöglich hilfts ein wenig weiter...
