Moin Leute! Wer kennt die Band Anti-Flag? Anti-Flag bestehen aus 4 Leuten, die aus Pittsburgh in Pennsylvenia kommen. Die Band ist einfach einmalig in Gesang und Sound. Sehr geil kommt die Stimme des Sängers, Justin Sane. Einer der großartigesten Stimmen, die ich je gehört habe. Ich würde mal sagen, dass es eine der besten Polit- Punkbands unserer Zeit ist. Die Texte sind einfach großartig und auch vom musikalischen wissen sie zu überzeugen. Nicht zu vergessen, die sehr ausgeprägten Bassläufe! Natürlich muss man sie in einem Atemzug mit Bands wie NoFx oder auch Propaghandi nennen! Gruß matze.

Jo, ich hab ein album von denen ["a new kind of army"] und find sie ziemlich gut. Vor allem die politischen texte sind meiner meinung nach zeimlich cool (auch wenn man die kaum versteht ).

früher waren die besser (egal wie abgedroschen es klingen mag...) also Die for the Government, A New Kind of Army, The System doesn't work for you und Underground Network fand ich ganz gut, Mobilizie ist mässig und The Terror State der grösste Schrott den die Band je veröffentlicht hat.

und aus Pittsburgh gibts es bessere Politbandss wie z.B. Aus-Rotten

Grooming young activists to become Christian fundamentalists
Convincing eith every medium that can lend a hand
That the youth should serve god's divine plan
So that "biblical law" can be set in place
And their bigoted morals must be embraced
That's the Christian coalition's resolution
To transform every home into god's institution
With a kitchen for women and a closet for gays
And a man in charge to make sure that's where they stay
And if they don't comply there's always domestic violence
To keep women subordinate, scared and silent
Making everything the way that god would want
Contributing to this modern day witch-hunt
Falwell, Robertson and Kennedy are defining immortality
They're bashing sexuality and cashing in on bigotry

Indoctrinated sexism
National chauvinism promotes authoritarianism
Empowered women threaten the Christian's plan
Of being an obedient dog and serving man
Like the gays, lesbaisn and transgendered
Roles that don't reflect Christian principal
Living your life by what the bible says
But your god is a myth and Christ is dead
Letting the bible do your thinking is so absurd
Because your malfunctioned god never wrote a word
Those who actually wrote the bible on your shelves
Were straight, bigoted men just like yourselves
Your word of god is just a front
That justifies this modern day witch-hunt
Your bigoted religion is what you trust
But your sick god doesn't govern us

"Plausible Deniability"

The self serving U.N. who manufacture war
Saw no legal way to stop the killings committed in East Timor
"We don't want to create a situation in which the responsibility
that is the government of Indonesia's is shifted to the international community."
But when there was a "Crisis in Kosovo" we heard a different speech
The human rights defended were worth the jurisdiction breached
And when they declared that Yugoslavia must be stopped
Operation Allied Force made sure the bombs were dropped
The slaughter of the East Timorese should have been prevented
Just like the scorched earth policy that was also implemented
In the U.N.'s moral conscience had any real sincerity
But instead they hide behind a mask of plausible deniability
So now the "peacekeepers" of the western world seem humbled by regret
Unable to stretch the U.N. budget to help empower UNAMET
Leaving Indonesia hopelessly caught between two warring factions
And their economy could be destabilized by outside interaction
The militias are solely responsible for murdering the East Timorese
That's what the U.N. and the American media would lead you to believe
But the Indonesian government is not as innocent as it seems
They're the U.S. sponsored terrorists of a puppet rogue regime
The militias are just a front for the Indonesian military
Committing genocidal actions while projecting legitimacy
Suppressing the "special autonomy" the referendum ballot guaranteed
Preventing the independence that the election so decreed
The U.S. were long time supporters of Shurarto's authoritarian rule
Whose atrocities were overlooked for being a beneficial tool
Buying U.S. political support under a false pretense
So when the political tide turned and special interests were at stake
The U.S. helped dismantle that dictatorship and build Indonesia a new state
Secretly trained army militia to keep their prosperity intact
Insuring that in spite of their oppression the U.N. would never act
So the western leaders cry crocodile tears and offer empty threats
In the face of another genocide they claim they won't forget
Their hypocrisy is blatantly obvious with the excuses that they gave
These protectors of world democracy bury more people than they save

"The Dying And The Dead"

Thiry thousand auto workers have gone to work to find
That they've been downsized form the assembly to the unemployment line
The employed seeking job security content with what employers give
Thinning out the job market keeps the workers competitive
The upper one percent receive the tax breaks, social program cut's commence
Educational funds take a back seat to America's defense
These education cuts are an investment in the prison industry
An occupational restructuring towards a slave labor economy
The chance of survival on death row disappears,theirright to appeal is deprived
Worker strength and solidarity depletes with union officials bribed
Raising taxes to build sports stadiums while the homeless are ignored
Refusing to supply the health care benefits most people can't afford
The newly founded citizen review boards' members are all police
The gap widens between the cost of living and the inflation increase
Those in power own the media machine it's the vehicle to their views
They bury all of their corruption under fluff reported news
They bombard us with statistics to influence public opinion
The more ridiculous the lie the more people seem to listen
It's the people with no money that are responsible for the rest of us being poor
We'll just eliminate the welfare system to even up the score
Our conditions never imporve no matter how many programs we stop
The money always seems to circulate back to the people at the top
The occasionl whining criticisms keep the public satisfied
The rest are busy escaping reality with drugs the CIA supplied
It's always the most oppressed who easily fall victim to ignorance
Even with all that they've been through they still pledge allegiance
To their country and flag that has caused all of their grievous pain
Patriotism leads to natonalism which in turn proceeds to fascism
Poor and working class people are the tools of sick corporate perseverance
Shit on little puppets exploited in the trials of human dominance
But still the pride goes on blindly and in so-called freedom they gloat
Waving the flag but cursing the politicians they think they elect when they vote
Behind the trails of our peacekeepers lie the dying and the dead
There are millions of starving chilren that are waiting to be fed
Because executive orders demand that economic sanctions are applied
If they'd have bowed down to our pressure, relief may have just arrived
As the worlds only super power we rule without regret
We don't let these children survive and grow up to be a threat
Love of this country is based on nothing but the fear of living somewhere worse
And gratitude shouldn't be the reaction to someone else being slaughtered first

Anti Flag ist eine meiner Lieblingsbands, das neue Album ist geil, aber mein Lieblingssong ist immer noch 911 FOR PEACE!!!

Anti-Flag ist schon ziemlich cool. um Längen besser als manch andere Punkband.
Hat der Sänger eigentlich wirklich so ne Stimme oder haben sie die irgednwie überarbeitet?
AUf jeden Fall passt sie zu den Texten und der Musik.
(Sollte das hier schon jemand geschrieben haben, ich hab nicht den ganzen thread gelesen)

Warum findest du die Terror State scheiße? Textlich ist das neue Album sehr gut und es ist kaum ein Ausfall drauf. Mal abgesehen, dass Post War Breakout nicht so ganz überzeugen kann. Was mir nicht so gefällt ist, dass es immer melodischer wird und sie jetzt neuerdings sogar Videos drehen. Aber das sieht man ja bei andern Bands auch. Rancid oder auch Nofx. Trotzdem sind diese Bands noch extrem glaubwürdig und ihre Einstellung stimmt. Live muss man sagen sind A-F verdammt geil! Habe sie letztes Jahr in Hamburg gesehen und werde sie dieses Jahr auch 2 mal sehen. Freue mich schon drauf!

Dann musst du dir die Original CD´s kaufen, dann haste auch die Texte. Das A new kind of army schwer verständlich ist, liegt daran, dass es in einer Garage aufgenommen wurde und mit sicherheit das ranzigste Album von A-F ist. Außerdem íst eines meiner Lieblingssongs darauf. Captain Anarchy.

Ja....Justin hat wirklich so ne hohe Stimme. Ich finde seine Stimme extrem geil! Gerade bei seinem Soloalbum klingt sie einfach verdammt gut. Hier mal 2 Songs von Justin Sane, bei der die hohe Stimme besonders gut zu geltung kommt.

Ich hab das New kind of army ja original, wollt nur damit ausdrücken, dass die stimme an sich relativ unverständlich is Naja, aber irgendwie is die stime auch mal aussergewöhnlich deshalb find ich sie ganz gut. Und "captain anarchy" is auch einer meiner beiden fav´s von AF neben "Thats youth".

Ja, aber ich finde grad bei A-F sind die Texte echt wichtig, weil rein vom hören ist es verdammt schwer, zu verstehen was die da grad singen. Captain Anarchy ist da ein sehr gutes Beispiel. Und die Stimme von Justin ist echt extrem geil!

also es geht doch um diesen "captain anarchy" der immer an punk konzerte geht mit seinen freunden. aber er ist immer ganz hinten am konzert und geht auch vorher raus und wartet mit seinem poser auto auf seine "freunde".

Was mich ein bisschen ankotzt ist, dass Lieder wie Turncoat oder auch Rank-N-File immer mehr in die Pop-Punk Richtung gehen und das sie sich damit bald in Songs von Good Charlote etc, einreihen können! Nicht texlich, aber vom Sound her. Mir fehlt da ein bisschen die Aggressivität. Textlich ist das neue Album recht gut und an Song 7 You can kill the protester, but you can´t kill the protest gehts auch richtig ab! Live denke ich mal wird das neue Album auch der Oberhammer sein. Werde sie ja demnächst live sehen. In Hambrug und in Fulda, jipppiiiii!


Aber Anti-Flag sind einfach großartig. Sie haben verdammt geile Songs, hier nur mal ein paar Beispiele.

911 for peace, Bring out your dead, Got the numbers, Underground Network, Tearing everyone down, Captain Anarchy, Fuck police brutality, This machine kills fascists, Angry young and poor, The panama deception, No Apology, That´s youth und es gibt noch viele, viele mehr!
