Wikipedia:
Borknagar ist eine 1995 gegründete Black-Metal-Band aus Norwegen, die sich ursprünglich aus Mitgliedern der Bands Molested, Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Arcturus, Immortal und Ulver formierte.

Ihr erstes Album Borknagar orientierte sich noch sehr am rohen Klang des Black Metals der frühen 1990er Jahre, war aber aus musikalischer Hinsicht dennoch sehr eigenständig. Auf den folgenden Alben entwickelte sich die Band konsequent weiter. In der Fachpresse wird die Musik Borknagars mittlerweile teilweise als "Avantgarde-Black-Metal" oder Progressive Metal bezeichnet. Diese Entwicklung ist vor allen Dingen der Stimme Andreas "Vintersorg" Hedlunds zu verdanken, der ab dem Album Empiricism (2001) den Gesangspart von ICS Vortex (heute Dimmu Borgir) übernahm und der Band damit weiterhin zur Eigenständigkeit verhalf.

Die Kompositionen der Gruppe stammen vom Gründer und Multiinstrumentalist Øystein G. Brun.

Hab bis jetzt auch noch nichts im Netz gefunden an Merchandising.

neues album:

Norway's BORKNAGAR are hard at work at Toproom and Fagerborg Studios with producer Borge Finstad (MAYHEM, SOLEFALD) recording the follow-up to 2001's "Empiricism", due in early 2004 through Century Media Records.

The following is the latest recording update from BORKNAGAR drummer Asgeir Mickelson, as posted earlier today (June 22) to the band's official forum:

"I've recorded all the acoustic drums. I still have to do some V-drums stuff on one of the two Lars [Nedland]-instrumentals (don't know what to do yet...), and I'll spend a couple of hours going through all the drum tracks fixing small errors (like when I hit the snare or a tom a little bit wrong I can replace it with a better take, or move the bass drums if they're not dead on the snare). Lars has recorded all keyboards (very happy with the sounds!) and Hammond (different one than last time — even more organic sound), but still have to record the grand piano in Fagerborg studio. Andreas [Hedlund, a.k.a. Vintersorg] is doing all his vocals next week (starting tomorrow). Øystein [G. Brun] recorded most of the rhythm tracks in April and will continue recording his endless amounts of guitars the same week as Andreas is doing the vocals. Tyr was supposed to record bass this week but had to postpone it to the second week in July due to not getting his new fretless bass in time.

"Other news is that we've chosen to release the album early next year. We have way too much material so we'll probably save some songs for a Japanese release or something else. We still haven't found a title for it, but it's decided that I will — as usual — do the cover design + this time shoot the band pictures (the problem with being in front and behind the camera at the same time is solved with a remote control and then some hours with Photoshop...). Other reasons for releasing the album next year is that we need more time to find and record 'the snacks'. We want it to be better produced — more sound effects, more intros/outros, whatever... We have found a possible session guitarist to replace Jens [F. Ryland], but still need to [teach] him the songs before playing live. Looks like we will have to cancel the (only) two scheduled shows and come back stronger next year. Who knows, maybe it's worth the wait..."

Meine anlage spielst passend zum thread gerade die "the olden domain" cd.

Ich kenn von denen nur das erste Album (find ich richtig gut) und das zweite (find ich net so toll).

meine rede. ich mag auch ihre letzten zwei alben am liebsten. vor allem "quintessence" - mit simen an den vocals - ist endgeil...
freu mich schon auf das neue album.

Ich find "BorkNagar", "The Olden Domain" und "Quintessence" sind für mich so ziemlich die besten Sachen, die die Szene zu bieten hat. Hab die Band mit Ihrem 2. Sänger live erlebt und freu mich auf die Shows...

Borknagar is einfach nur königlich, hab zwar nur Empircism von denen, aber das is mit der beste Black/Death(Wat isn das überhaupt? :? ) - Metal überhaupt.

bei BORKNAGAR und OTYG...

Hmm,hab mir jetzt mal was von denen "besorgt" (*fg*) und ich denke si sind .. also,kein Death Metal,eher Mittelalter-Black Metal Aber gefallen mir

könnte das sein, das sich die band ein bisschen wie amon amarth, marduk, immortal anhört???
also ich habe mir grade n lied von denen auf deren homepage runtergeladen, die musik gefällt mir, dabei haben sie in dem lied auch eine passage, wo sie mit einem normalen gesang singen lol.
