Magix Sequoia, Samplitude und Music Studio: Besitzerwechsel zu Boris FX

Magix, gerade durch eine Insolvenz gegangen und vom Investor rm Equity Partners gekauft, soll offensichtlich schlank kuriert werden. Die bekannten Audio-Programme Sequoia, Samplitude und Music Studio werden an Boris FX verkauft.

We’ve got some great news to share: Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are now part of Boris FX.

We're very excited by this and want you to know that the software you trust is in safe hands. The entire team, including developers, engineers, product leadership, and support staff, has made the move. We’ve formed a new subsidiary in Germany to support this transition; longtime team members Thomas Wolf and Sven Kardelke will lead as co-CEOs of Boris FX Germany GmbH.

What does this mean for you?

Simply put: Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are here to stay, and they’re about to get even better. With the backing of Boris FX, development will speed up, bringing you more frequent updates, cutting-edge new features (including AI-powered tools), and continued innovation. Support remains seamless, now with an even larger global team behind you. Most importantly, the products will continue to deliver the precision, reliability, and quality you’ve always counted on.

We’ll be sharing more details later this summer. In the meantime, we’ve answered a few common questions below. For now, just know that your trust in Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio remains well-placed.

Q: I’d like to purchase a new license. Should I go to magix.com or borisfx.com?
A: For now, all new purchases and account management should still be done through magix.com. We’ll share more details later this summer about the transition to borisfx.com.

Q: Will my 3rd-party plugins, instruments, and software still work?
A: Yes! All your 3rd-party add-ons will continue to work as they always have. No changes are needed — your existing serial numbers and settings will remain valid.

Q: What’s happening with the Samplitude X9 release?
A: A major new release is coming this summer! Samplitude X9 will introduce powerful new features and significant performance improvements. Stay tuned and be the first to hear the news by subscribing to Boris FX updates.

Entsprechend verkündet Boris FX, dass die Produkte Sequoia, Samplitude und Music Studio erhalten respektive weiterentwickelt werden. Mit der Unterstützung von Boris FX soll die Entwicklung beschleunigt werden, sodass häufiger Updates und neue Funktionen hinzukommen. Dabei erwähnt man auch explizit KI-gestützte Tools, die durch kontinuierliche Innovation hinzukommen sollen. Auch der Support bleibt erhalten, wobei man auf ein größeres globales Team im Hintergrund verweist. Weitere Details sollen im Laufe des Sommers folgen. Bis dahin bleibt erstmal vieles beim Alten: Fürs Erste werden Neukäufe und die Verwaltung des Accounts weiterhin über magix.com erfolgen. Alle Drittanbieter-Erweiterungen werden wie gewohnt weiter funktionieren. Zudem kündigt man bereits ein großes neues Release im Sommer zu Samplitude X9 an.
