Someone else's shoes
Three in the morning, last man in the bar
He's drowning his problems as he did so far
But I don't blame him, it's only the truth
But it's no way out of the mess he's been through
Kicked out by the barman he follows the lights
Of the street down to Brooklyn as he does every night
And I know he'll arrive at his so-called home
'Cause it's changing and no single road leads to Rome
And he goes on
Singing the blues, singing the blues
Wishing his feet into someone else's shoes
He's singing the blues, singing the blues
Wishing his feet into someone else's shoes
He wakes up in the morning, finds himself below a bridge
As the pain in his back can tell he slept on a ridge
And its not the first morning he thinks things have to change
But its the first perception that makes him rearrange
From rags to riches, from riches to rags
Hes been all the way up there and all the way back
He lost all his money, his job and his wife
But hell never stop hoping for a better life
'Cause he'll go on
Paying his dues, paying his dues
Wishing his feet into someone else's shoes
He's singing the blues, paying his dues
Until he's got the money for some brand-new shoes
Danke für die Aufmerksamkeit
