Moinsen zusammen,
nach Jahren der Abstinenz hab ich doch tatsächlich wieder angefangen zu schreiben und in ner Band zu spielen.
Ist ein Love Song, nichts tiefgründiges, eher simpel. Wär nett, wenn ein guter Anglizist sich des Textes mal auf ein paar grobe Schnitzer annehmen könnte.
Das Stück soll im schnellen Flogging Molly Stil gespielt werden.

Hi, ich finde den Text ziemlich zugänglich, schön zu lesen. Auf jeden Fall gute Arbeit
Wobei ich mir nicht sicher bin, ob man das so sagen kann sind folgende Dinge:
-"to hell" - ich hab es noch nicht so gehört, man sagt meines Wissens nur "hell"
-"There will nothing ever happen make me quit this love" - ich glaube es müsste heißen "there will nothing ever happen making (that will make) me quit this love"

Das ist auch das einzige. Mir gefällt auch das sprachliche Bild mit dem Piraten

Hi Spectre,

Thema und Beschreibungen passen und und geben ein Bild - aber Dein Englisch ist einfach recht umständlich - das sind deutsch gedachte Sätze ins Englische übersetzt, was extrem schade ist, da es die positive Einfachheit der Geschichte stark ankratzt. Phizzel macht da schon korrektes und besseres Englisch draus, aber da ist insgesamt noch viel Luft nach oben.

Mal ein kurzes Beispiel:
There will nothing ever happen make me quit this
love
You let me burn with just a single touch
You confuse my mind by smile at me with misty eyes
And it's hard for me to know when I ask too much
würde in etwa so klingen:
Nothings (ever) gonne make me quit that love
your touch / just one little touch of yours is burning me/setting me on fire oder I´m on fire by one little touch of yours
Your smiling misty eyes are confusing me / making me forget my mind oder when your mysty eyes are smiling I lose control
And it´s too hard to know / and I just don´t know / and how can I know when I´m asking too much

Lies mal viel englische Literatur - am besten short storys, krimis, zeitung etc. - kann ruhig ne einfache Sprache haben: auf die zielst Du ja eh ab.
Hör englisches Radio etc.
Dann kommst Du mit der Zeit viel besser in die Sprache rein.

Jau, ich weiß, mein Englisch ist stark angerostet, hab seit Jahren weder Englisch sprechen müssen noch hab ich es für mich am Leben erhalten. Das mit der Literatur ist natürlich ein guter Tipp, werd ich versuchen zu beherzigen, auch wenn ich aus Zeitmangel kaum dazu komme überhaupt ein Buch zu lesen. Außer im Urlaub. Zwischenzeitlich nehm ich dann mal gerne die Tipps hier an ;-).
