by BandLab supports VST (and VST3) plugins. You can manage and use these plugins within Cakewalk by navigating to Edit > Preferences > VST Settings to configure plugin folders, and using the Plugin Manager (Utilities > Cakewalk Plugin Manager) to manage individual plugins. Cakewalk automatically scans for and registers new plugins upon startup, but you can also manually scan for them or manage excluded plugins.
To use VST plugins in Cakewalk:
- 1. Configure VST Settings:
Go to Edit > Preferences > File > VST Settings to specify the folders Cakewalk should scan for VST plugins.
- 2. Install Plugins:
Download and install the desired VST plugins, ensuring they are placed in the designated folders that Cakewalk is set to scan.
- 3. Scan for New Plugins:
If you've manually installed a plugin, or have set Cakewalk to scan manually, you can initiate a scan for new plugins in the VST settings or via the Plugin Manager.
- 4. Add Plugins to Projects:
Use the Browser panel (default hotkey B) or the Plugin Manager to add effects, instruments, and other plugins to your tracks, buses, or clips.
Plugin Manager: The Cakewalk Plugin Manager (Utilities > Cakewalk Plugin Manager) allows you to view registered and excluded plugins, enable or disable them, and manage their settings.
Browser Panel: The Browser panel provides a quick way to access and insert plugins into your projects, including effects, instruments, and other plugin types.
