Tokai Goldstar Strat-Nachbau

Hallo,

ich habe zwei Frage zu den Seriennummern der Tokai Goldstar Serie:

- Was genau hat es mit den Ziffern hinter dem "ST" auf sich? Es geht ja soweit ich weiß von ST40 bis ST100. Wird die Verarbeitungsqualität nach oben hin besser?

- Kann man die Qualität der Serien Silverstar, Goldstar und Springy Sound in etwa staffeln? Zumindest preislich liegen die Modelle der Springy Sound Serie ja vorn, gefolgt von der Goldstar Serie.

Könnt ihr mir da vielleicht weiterhelfen?

Die Namen haben eher was mit den Modellen zu tun. Silverstar sind die mit der großen 70er Kopfplatte, Goldstar aus den 80ern mit kleinerer Kopfplatte. Ich habe einen Body einer ST 50 aus den 80ern bei mir, der ist qualitativ sehr, sehr geil! Die ST100 ist die aktuelle Serie aus jap. Fertigung.

Differences:
* Silver Star is a copy of the late '60s big headstock, 3-bolt neck fixing style of Strat (never officially imported into the UK)
* Springy Sound is a copy of the '50s and early '60s Strats with small headstock and the ones before '83 had a F-style '7okai' logo. After trouble from Fender, most/all '83 models had a transitiona block logo 'TOKAI'
* Goldstar Sound started as the same as the springys, but with a 'Tokai' not-quite-so-F-stle logo. Then they got a slightly wrong headstock shape to avoid trademark trouble with Fender.
If you don't mind the slightly funky headstock shape, the later '80s Goldstars are the bargains at the moment. Lots will have had mods through the years which makes them more affordable.
The other bargains are the Japanese-made late '80s Tokai superStrats. These tend to have names like "Tokai Super Edition" and the usual combination of HBs or hot SCs, locking trems, coil taps, etc.
